Shraddha Kapoor is happier than ever as the second installment of the horror-comedy film Stree collects over ₹280 crores globally within only four days. Stree 2, which was released at the theatres on Thursday, has been well appreciated by the critics and audiences alike. On Monday, Kapoor posted a film poster on Instagram and Twitter and lauded the movie for earning ₹283 crore globally in four days; she used folded hands emojis for gratitude.
The film’s production team has claimed that Stree 2 has done well, especially with a mention that Sundays’ collections were higher than those of Vinayak Chaturthi i.e., August 15. The film has been very successful, grossing ₹283 crores worldwide and net ₹204 crores in India. The stupendous figures of Stree 2 from the team of the movie show that India’s gross collection of the film is ₹240 crore, and its overseas gross collection is ₹43 crore.
Stree 2, the highly anticipated sequel of the comedy horror Stree of the Year 2018, is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films. The movie is a sequel to the first part in which the group of friends, with Vicky, played by Rajkummar Rao, is shown further. This time, their town of Chanderi is faced with new terror from a villain named Sarkata. The film also includes the other cast members of Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana in significant roles.
Thus, at the box office, Stree 2 competed with other Bollywood productions, among which Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Me and the film Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani with John Abraham. However, the competition has always been there and has never deterred the appeal of Stree 2, which has gone on to make a forceful mark for itself and the audience.
