Stree 2 continues to trend at the box office, and it will remain for some time before people can get enough of it. The sequel is directed by Amar Kaushik, and it has Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the leading roles since the prequel of the Stree franchise. By the time the horror-comedy film Day 12 began streaming in theatres, it was able to gross ₹17 crore and this is according to trade analysts. This latest addition takes the total box office collection of Stree 2 to ₹401.55 crore, which could be considered a great achievement because the company has exceeded ₹400 crore. Now, the film is cruising to enter ₹450 crore club, which is an indicator of its acceptability from the audience side.
On its second Monday (August 26), Stree 2 got a “29. 02% Hindi occupancy” in theatres, which shows that people are still going out to watch movies even after the film has been out for more than a week. This strong performance is impressive, particularly when one looks at the stiff competition that it had to face at the box office compared to other films such as Vedaa star John Abraham and Khel Khel Mein star Akshay Kumar. However, this fight has not deterred Stree 2 from struggling and losing ground and carrying on to attract the masses to the theatres.
The film was released recently on Independence Day, which is 15th August, and this is a sequel to the movie Stree, which was released in the year 2018 and also features Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The characters from the previous movie are also featured in the sequel, including Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi and Vijay Raaz, all of whom are very relevant in the plot. Thanks to the ensemble cast and the extraordinary combination of the genres — horror-comedy, Stree 2 has become one of the most successful films of the year.
With Stree 2 also performing well at the Box Office, everyone is anticipating whether or not it can cross ₹ 450 crore to become an even bigger Box Office giant.
