Multi-award-winning action drama RRR on Thursday missed out on the nomination at the 2023 BAFTA Film Awards. The period drama was listed in the longlist for the film, not in the English language category but could not make it to the final nominations.
However, Shaunak Sen made it to the final five in the best documentary segment with “All That Breathes”.The documentary is nominated in the segment, along with “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed”, “Fire of Love”, “Moonage Daydream” and “Navalny”
SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been submitted in 14 categories at Oscars 2023. However, RRR is not India’s official entry to the Oscars 2023. Subsequently,the Academy Awards will take place on March 12th.
Earlier at the Golden Globe Awards, the song NAATU NAATU was awarded as the best foreign language film.
RRR is a fictional drama written by Vijayendra Prasad and directed by SS Rajamouli. The film features Ram Charan and Alluri Seetharama Raju and Jr NTR as Komaram Bheem. Set in the 1920s, the film is based on the lives of these two Telugu freedom fighters. Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris play supporting roles.
