Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi is much in talks as it inches closer to the Rs 100 crore club racing to next to Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji. Sooryavanshi that was released a day before Diwali on November 5th, clocked Rs 14.51crore on Monday pushing the total sum to a whooping Rs 91.59 crore.

Tracking the megstarer cop iteration, Trade Analyst Adrash Wrote, “ Sooryavanshi collects in double digits on a Day 4… Inches closer to Rs 100 crore mark… Will be the first Rs 100 crore #Hindi film, since #Tanhaji [Jan 2020]… Friday 26.29 crore, Saturday 23.85 crore, Sunday 26.94 crore, Monday 14.51 crore. Total: Rs 91.59 crore. India business.” On Monday Taran took to his microblogging site sharing the overseas collection that stood at Rs 24.37 crore.

The action packed drama has had its share of hit by the pandemic. The steadfastness of the makers prevented its release on the OTT platform that delayed its theatrical release from March 27 last year to April 30th and November 5th lately. However, the next release date was further pushed due to the resurgence of the pandemic across the nation.

The Rohit Shetty helmed venture is the fourth iteration in the cop universe following Singham series and Simba adventures. With Akshay kumar and Ms Kaif in the lead, the movie also feature a cameo of the Singham and Simba stars. For the unversed it should be recalled that Akshay Kumar’s charecter Veer Sooryavanshi was introduced as an Anti-Terrorist Squad officer in a cameo in Ranveer Singh starrer Simba.
