Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s action-packed war drama, Sky Force, has earned enough to sit at the showpiece till week two. The film maintained a pace well when it was directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur and even crossed the ₹100 crore mark. Nevertheless, the movie slowed down collections a bit after it managed to tick this crucial figure. However, the latest figures indicate that Sky Force is picking up steam again.

Sky Force, which had released on its 13th day and was celebrating the second Wednesday since its release, had picked up an estimated ₹1.54 crore, thereby taking its domestic total to ₹104.49 crore. A 14 per cent spike in earnings over Monday’s earnings of ₹1.35 crore was surmised from the film. Even after this first spike in collections, there is a slight upward trend, indicating sustained interest in the audience.

The Indo-Pak war of 1965 served as the subject of Sky Force, wherein it details the great tenacity of the Indian Air Force during an important airstrike. The film is Veer Pahariya’s Bollywood debut, starring Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur in important roles.

The film was released on January 24, just before Republic Day weekend, and made the most of patriotic fervour during the holiday. For its opening weekend, Sky Force earned ₹50 crore on the strength of good footfalls. Collections tapered off on the weekdays that followed, but the film ended up in the coveted ₹100 crore club.

After steadily winning the box office and improving word of mouth, Sky Force attracts audiences and will strengthen in the days to come. It will be seen whether it can maintain this momentum in the third week.
