Finally, Akshay Kumar’s high-octane action thriller, Sky Force, has finally crossed the ₹110 crore mark at the box office. However, despite being off to a strong start, the film has been unable to counter the presence of two new Bollywood releases along with a re-release of an old hit.
Box Office Performance So Far:
The film had a rather great start, with around ₹86.5 crore in the first week. It became the first Bollywood release of the year 2025 to cross the ₹100 crore mark in its second week, further adding ₹19.05 crore to its earnings. But as it was entering its third weekend, Sky Force faced major competition, which descended the movie’s overall growth.
Challenges from New and Re-Released Films:
Several other films have come into the box office fight, diverting the attention of the audience. Among the new Bollywood releases:
- Badass Ravikumar (Himesh Reshammiya) – ₹6.15 crore
- Loveyapa (Junaid Khan, Khushi Kapoor) – ₹4.45 crore
Concurrently, there has been a re-release of popular movies while attracting viewers away from new ones. These include:
- Sanam Teri Kasam (Harshvardhan Rane, Mawra Hocane) – ₹15.50 crore
- Interstellar (Christopher Nolan’s 2014 sci-fi epic) – ₹9 crore
Sky Force kicked off strongly, unlike most films this year, but its pace has slowed down, and it’s hard tracking if the film would see it recover its massive ₹160 crore production budget. More Sky Force comes as the weeks go on, and new movies enter the fray.
