Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, have filed a Rs 50 crore defamation suit against Sherlyn Chopra, accusing her of seeking to smear their reputation by fabricating false charges ‘with the intent to slander and extort money.’ Sherlyn filed a new FIR against Raj and Shilpa for claimed sexual harassment and criminal intimidation 5 days ago. Despite being cautioned by the couple’s lawyers, she held a press conference later.
According to sources, Raj and Shilpa have claimed that Sherlyn’s charges are “fabricated, false, frivolous, baseless, and without any evidence.” Shilpa has nothing to do with the App for which Raj has been arrested, according to the notice, and she should not be dragged into the workings of the Stream App. “It is nothing more than an ambitious attempt by Ms. Sherlyn to drag Ms. Shilpa Shetty’s name into unnecessary controversy and obtain media attention,” the notice said. We have total faith in the Indian judicial system, and we intend to file civil and criminal charges against Ms. Sherlyn Chopra in a competent court of law.
Sherlyn had filed a police complaint against the celebrity couple at the Juhu police station on October 14th. She then informed the media that she would hold a press conference to discuss the allegations she had leveled about the couple. Shilpa and Raj’s lawyers issued a formal statement, warning Sherlyn not to go ahead with her PC. She, on the other hand, kept doing what she was doing. Raj is now on bail in connection with a case involving the suspected creation of pornography using several mobile apps.
