The supernatural horror-thriller, “Shaitaan,” experienced a significant downturn on Monday and continued its slump into Tuesday, following an impressive weekend performance. After a powerful debut on March 8, the Bollywood movie steadily progressed before facing a decline on the fourth day of its release. Industry trackers report that the film garnered ₹61.25 crore net during its five-day theatrical run, with the fifth day, March 12, bringing in ₹6.50 crore net.
Vikas Bahl’s directorial venture started strong in India, earning ₹14.75 crore net on its release day. The film surpassed this mark on day 2, Saturday, with collections reaching ₹18.75 crore, showcasing a notable growth of 27.12%.
The positive momentum continued into day 3, Sunday, where the collection rose to ₹20.5 crore net, reflecting a 9.33% growth. Consequently, Panorama Studios and Jio Studios’ production amassed ₹39.25 crore net in its first weekend.
The cumulative net box office collection in India now stands at ₹68.13 crore, supplemented by an overseas collection of ₹15.25 crore. Consequently, the worldwide box office gross for “Shaitaan” is impressive at ₹88 crore.
Regarding occupancy, “Shaitaan” maintained an overall 13.38% Hindi occupancy on Day 5, with Mumbai leading the way, closely followed by Delhi. The movie features a star-studded cast including R Madhavan, Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala, Anngad Raaj, and Ajay Devgn.
Despite the recent decline, “Shaitaan” has made a significant impact at the box office, marking a substantial achievement in the horror-thriller genre. The film’s performance reflects the audience’s initial enthusiasm and sustained interest, solidifying its position in the competitive landscape of Bollywood cinema.
