After two weeks of release, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” amassed a noteworthy ₹203.87 crore in India, as reported by industry trackers. On its fifteenth day, the film added approximately ₹2.65 crore to its Indian Box Office earnings across various languages.
Boasting a star-studded cast with Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and others, “Dunki,” directed by Rajkumar Hirani, showcases diverse talent. The box office journey commenced on a high note with ₹29.2 crore on day one, followed by a slight dip to ₹20.12 crore on day two. A significant surge occurred over the weekend, reaching ₹25.61 crore on Saturday and ₹30.7 crore on Sunday.
As the week progressed, the film experienced a slowdown, with Monday’s figures at ₹24.32 crore. Subsequent weekdays saw earnings of ₹11.56 crore on Tuesday, ₹10.5 crore on Wednesday, and ₹8.21 crore on Thursday. The first week concluded solidly with a total of ₹160.22 crore net in India. The second week began softer, earning ₹7 crore on Friday. Nevertheless, the weekend proved favorable, with Saturday bringing in ₹9 crores and Sunday earning ₹11.5 crore.
The movie faced a decline on the second Monday, collecting ₹9.05 crore. Early estimates for Day 13 (Tuesday) suggested earnings of ₹3.85 crore. On Wednesday (Day 14), the film minted ₹3.25 crore, with early estimates for Day 15 (Thursday) indicating the lowest numbers at ₹2.65 crore.
Red Chillies Entertainment reports a global gross earning of ₹400.40 crore for Shah Rukh Khan’s third 2023 release, while industry tracker reports a slightly lower figure of ₹390 crore worldwide. The breakdown includes a gross of ₹235.75 crore in India and ₹154.25 crore in overseas collections, as per industry trackers. “Dunki” continues its successful run, showcasing the enduring appeal of the star-studded blockbuster. It will be interesting to see whether the film reaches 500 crore worldwide or not.
