Mumbai: In a recent poll, superstar Shah Rukh Khan secured the top position in Time Magazine’s poll for annual TIME100 list. According to the American publication, over 1.2 million votes were cast in the poll with Shah Rukh Khan receiving 4 per cent.
The 57-year-old actor is currently riding high on the success of Pathaan, which became a runaway blockbuster at the global box office after it was released in January this year. The mega comeback vehicle earned over Rs 1000 crores worldwide after his absence from leading roles for more than four years.
The second on the list is an Iranian women protesting for greater freedoms from the nation’s Islamic regime, garnering 3 per cent of the vote. Iran has been hit by protests since the 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was detained by Iran’s morality police and died three days later at the police station. The women was also recognised in TIME’s 2022 Heroes of the Year and won last year’s Person of the Year reader poll.
The poll for TIME’s Magazine 2023 Time 100 readers included several well-known names from the globe, including Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, athelete Serena Williams, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Brazillian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and Twitter CEO Elon Musk.
