Power Jodi starrer, RRR has been scripting new records at the box office ever since its release. The film is now closer to the Rs 1000 crore mark, which is expected to be accomplished over the weekend.
The film held a massive success party in Mumbai on Wednesday. The Rs 1,000 crore success bash was also attended by some Bollywood A-listers including superstar Aamir Khan and Karan Johar, among other noted film personalities, and technicians.
Responding to the speculations on RRR2- Jr NTR expressing his feeling for the sequel of the magnum opus said- the success bash “Rajamouli sir needs to make RRR 2” as there needs to be “a conclusion to this story.” He added that while talking to another earlier the same day he had referred to RRR as a ‘franchise’ and expressed his wish that his words come true.
Ram Charan too was of the opinion that there is no harm to think about a sequel, however, he stated that one must first let the release of RRR conclude. “If Rajamouli sir thinks of making RRR 2. I hope your wish comes true brother,” Ram Charan said.
The film performed explicitly on the Nizam grounds minting around Rs crore, setting a benchmark as the first film to collect Rs 100 crore in the state alone. According to trade analysts, the movie in 12 days garnered Rs 939.41 crore. On the 13th day, it raked in another Rs 10 crore taking the total collection close to Rs 950 crore. Speculation on the sequel first aired after SS Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad writer of the blockbuster revealed he began exploring possibilities of a probable sequel for the Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer ‘RRR’. “Some ideas popped up, as I started exploring the possible sequel. Everybody liked it too. If God is willing, it may happen sometime later”, the writer had said
