Ranveer Singh has been issued a summon by the Mumbai police in a case against him for posting nude photographs of himself on social media. The Gully Boy star has been called to the Chembur Police station on August 22nd ‘to join the investigation’.
Personnel of the Chembur Police station on Friday visited the actor’s residence to serve him a notice to join the probe. It is being learnt that the actor was not in town. The actor will now be served the notice on August 16th.
He is also facing an FIR in Mumbai following a complaint from an NGO alleging that he had “hurt the sentiments of women in general and insulted their modesty through his photographs”. Based on the complaint lodged on July 26th, the FIR was registered under various Indian Penal Code Sections like 292 (sale of obscene books, etc), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young people), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and provisions of the Information Technology Act.
