Mumbai: The bold avatar of the Gully boy star garnered him legal attention. An FIR has been filed against Ranveer Singh over his controversial nude photo shoot on his Instagram account.
The Mumbai police have charged the actor based on a complaint filed by a city-based Non-Government Organization. As per the FIR booked by the office-bearer of the NGO at the Chembur Police station on Monday evening, the actor has been booked under Sections sections 292 (sale of obscene books), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young persons) and 509 (act intending to outrage modesty of women) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with Section 67A of the IT Act, which deals with publication of any material that contains sexually explicit act or conduct. The NGO alleged that the artist hurt the sentiments of the women in general and insulted their modesty.
Another lawyer on the same note had approached the police accusing him of posting the photographs with the intent to outrage the modesty of women.
The Band Bajaa Baarat debutant made headlines on Thursday after he shot for a magazine. While many praised the actors’ bold demeanour during the photo shoot several were left offended by the ‘obscene’ pics of the star.
