Actor Rajpal Yadav has been given a temporary reprieve to his current legal battle as the Delhi High Court on Monday gave him interim bail in the 9 crore cheque bounce case. Yadav has been released on bail pending the case until March 18, and will be out of Tihar Jail. The actor had surrendered to the police on February 5 after he failed to repay the huge debt on which the court had ordered him to be arrested.
Rajpal Yadav was jailed in the Tihar Jail located in Delhi, and this saw the outburst of support of other colleagues in Indian film industry. Some of the industry players publicly promised to give the actor the necessary hand that would see him come out of his monetary predicament. Yadav was granted interim bail on February 16 with 1.5 crore in cash that was given by him providing him with temporary relief and enabling him to continue with personal and professional life.
In an interview with the media, the manager of Yadav, Goldie, stated that he was relieved and happy about the development. Yes, it is true that Rajpal sir is on bail. Very happy, very happy, it is a happy day with us, he said. He also affirmed that the actor would be conducting a press conference in the near future where he would be addressing the issue before the media and clear up the details on the case. “It will happen in a day or two. Up to that point we must say no more, Goldie said.
In a contrast to some reports that affirmed that Rajpal Yadav was not offered any assistance by any industrial figure, Goldie explained that there were other actors and other prominent individuals who had offered financial favors and moral support to the actor at senior age. Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Choudhary and the singer Guru Randhawa were among top celebrities who had openly joined hands with Yadav, pointing to the massive support that he has received in the film industry.
