Mumbai: Shilpa Shetty’s businessman husband Raj Kundra was granted bail by Mumbai Court on a surety of Rs. 50,000 on Monday. Ryan Thorpe, the IT head of one of Raj Kundra’s firm’s, has also been granted bail by the Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Earlier businessman Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Police on July 19 in a pornographic case.

The Police in Mumbai then stated that he is the “key conspirator” in the production of pornographic films and distribution of them. Raj and his partner’s bail plea was refused at the initial hearing, following which he was taken into judicial custody. However, Shilpa chose to keep quiet and pause to concentrate on her family.

Accused, Raj Kundra moved a bail application in a court in Mumbai. Claiming that he was being made a ‘scapegoat ‘and that there was no single evidence against him being involved in the creation of alleged contentious content in the supplementary charge sheet.

Prashin Patil, Raj Kundra’s Advocate, argued before the court that the celebrity and the producer decide what content should be uploaded on the platform. “The decision to upload was not made by Kundra or Ryan. No single piece of evidence showed Kundra uploaded in the charges sheet for the 1400-page charge,” said Patil
