Punjabi Singer Rajvir Jawanda Dies: The actor-singer had been on life support since admission after the horrific accident. He died while undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, after battling for life for nearly 12 days. The 35-year-old was declared dead at 10.55 am on Wednesday, hospital authorities said.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Fortis Hospital earlier on Sunday to inquire about the singer’s health. Earlier in the day, Mann also posted on X (formerly Twitter), praying for Jawanda’s recovery. “News has been received that famous Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda has sustained serious injuries in an accident near Baddi. His condition is quite critical. I pray to the almighty for his speedy recovery. May he soon return to his fans and family,” he wrote. Today afternoon, CM Mann condoled the demise.
The singer had suffered severe head and spinal injuries in a road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, on September 27, when his motorcycle collided with stray cattle that suddenly appeared on the road.
According to doctors, Jawanda’s neurological condition remained critical, with minimal brain activity and no significant improvement despite intensive medical care. His condition was described as “extremely critical” soon after the mishap, and he had been on life support since admission.
