Udaipur: The highly-anticipated wedding of actress Parineeti Chopra and politician Raghav Chadha is set to take place in Udaipur on Sunday, and preparations are in full swing. The couple, along with their guests, arrived in Udaipur on September 22, kicking off their wedding festivities. The chooda, haldi, and sangeet ceremonies are scheduled to take place today at the grand Leela Palace.
The wedding celebrations began with a Sufi night hosted by the couple for close friends and family. While Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti’s cousin, couldn’t attend, her mother Madhu Chopra and brother Siddharth were present at a special function held at Raghav’s residence in the national capital.
Before the musical night, Parineeti and Raghav sought blessings at a Gurudwara in New Delhi, participating in Ardas and Kirtan. Although their engagement was discreet, it’s known that they have known each other for several years before officially becoming a couple.
The couple was recently spotted scouting wedding locations in Udaipur, hinting at a lavish Rajasthan wedding similar to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s nuptials.
Notably, MP Sanjeev Arora arrived in Udaipur ahead of the wedding and extended his congratulations to the couple and their families on this special occasion.
The theme for the sangeet ceremony is ‘Let’s Party Like It’s the 90s,’ and it will be held at the Guava Garden at The Leela Palace. DJ Sumit Sethi has also arrived in Jaipur to ensure the musical night is a memorable one.
Fashion designer Manish Malhotra, who has designed Parineeti’s wedding lehenga, is expected to arrive in Udaipur soon. Reports suggest he might be accompanied by filmmaker Karan Johar, adding to the glamour and excitement surrounding the wedding.
