Mumbai: Actor Ranveer Singh appeared before the Mumbai Police today to record his statement in connection with the FIR registered against him for posting his nude photographs on social media. The Mumbai Police had summoned him and had given him time till August 30.

“The actor appeared before the investigation officer today morning at 7 AM and his statement was recorded till 9.30 AM. Based on our questionnaire, he has given a handwritten statement to us”, said a Mumbai Police officer at a press briefing.

Earlier, a police team had gone to Ranveer’s home on August 12, but the actor was not there. The Police asked him to appear on August 22, to which he asked for an extension and was granted time till August 30.

On July 26, the Mumbai Police registered an FIR against Ranveer Singh for allegedly posting images from his nude photoshoot for New York-based Paper magazine and posted on his social media account.

Two FIR’s were lodged against the actor for a nude photoshoot claiming that it ‘hurt the sentiments of women. The written application was submitted at the Chembur Police Station by a Mumbai-based lawyer Vedika Chaubey, who alleged in her complaint that the actor had hurt the sentiments of women in general and insulted their modesty.
