SUKMA: A Naxal couple carrying a bounty was arrested in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Sukma district following an encounter. A joint team of DRG and District Force had launched a combing operation in Sukma.
After an encounter that took place in the limits of Gadiras police station, the security personnel arrested a Naxal couple, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kiran Chouhan, elaborating that the cadres were carrying cash reward on their head.
The arrested Naxals are identified as Muchaki Hidma and Kunjam Kosi. The husband carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh is the deputy commander of Naxalite Platoon No. 24 and was active in the banned outfit for eight years. While the woman Naxalite is a member of the Kanger Valley Area Committee from 10 years. Both are said to be involved in major incidents in Dantewada and Sukma region.
