Unfortunately, Malaika Arora and her sister Amrita Arora recently lost their father, Anil Arora, to a rumored suicide, as reported across the news. But according to some other accounts, it might have been an accident that cost him his life. A family source said, “Yes it is true that Malaika’s father died yesterday morning. It was not a suicide but an accident. They are still in shock since he did not have any illness or any other issue.” Police are expected to take an investigation to determine the cause of his death and clear the air on that.
Upon this sad incident, actor and producer Arbaaz Khan, former husband of Malaika, was spotted going to the family’s house in Mumbai for consolation. People in police uniforms and reporters are visible outside the apartment, meaning the event is not small.
Malaika and Amrita’s parents got divorced when she was only 11 years old, which made Joyce Polycarp and the children shift to Chembur. Joyce was a Malayali Christian, and Anil, a Punjabi Hindu, was born in Fazilka, a border town of India, and he was a seaman in the Indian Merchant Navy. When I had a chance to interview Malaika for this paper, she also recalled how her parents’ separation affected her. She said, “My parents’ divorce gave me a different vantage point on my mother and what I saw shaped my work ethic – stable work ethic and lessons in becoming fiercely independent. Part and parcel of those lessons is getting up every morning to do whatever I need to do as a free woman and that craft has stayed with me even in my working environment I remain ferociously independent. ”
While the family grieves for this sudden tragedy, more information is expected in regard to the probe as well as events that surrounded the death of Anil Arora.
