Mumbai: Regarding his controversial remarks on ‘India’s Got Latent,’ YouTuber Samay Raina will receive a second summons, the Maharashtra Cyber Department has revealed.
What the Maharashtra Cyber Department said
This action was taken in response to Raina’s nonattendance at a scheduled February 18 statement recording session. In a statement, the Maharashtra Cyber Department confirmed that Raina will receive the summons today, guaranteeing his attendance for the statement recording.
According to Raina’s prior plea, he is presently in the United States and would not be able to return to India until March 17 because of prior obligations. He asked the Maharashtra Cyber Cell to permit him to record his statement via videoconferencing. His request was denied by the department, which insisted that his statement be recorded in person.
About the controversy
Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s guest participation on “India’s Got Latent” sparked controversy. Allahbadia made an inappropriate comment to a contestant, asking, “Would you rather watch your parents… or join in once and stop it forever?”
An official complaint was made against Allahbadia, Raina, comedian Apoorva Makhija, and the show’s organizers as a result of the statements, which caused significant indignation. Raina responded by apologizing and stating that his sole intention was to entertain in a statement on his Instagram Story. “Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all of India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly,” he wrote.
