Mumbai: Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut ‘Madgaon Express film has performed ably in theatres across India. The film collected ₹2.75 crore at the domestic box office. Moreover, the movie had an overall 17.95% Hindi Occupancy on Saturday.
After a promising start at the box office, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda’s latest film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar continued its upward trajectory on the second day of its release. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film amassed Rs 2.25 crore on Saturday, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 3.30 crore. It also raked in a global tally of Rs 3.25 crores on Saturday alone.
Swatantrya Veer Savarkar boasted an overall 25.30 per cent Hindi Occupancy on Saturday. With 323 shows, Mumbai had the maximum screenings, with a 31.50 per cent occupancy rate. Following closely, NCR had 260 shows with a 15 per cent occupancy, while Pune saw a 48 per cent occupancy with 147 shows. Chennai, with only 4 shows, achieved a remarkable 90 per cent occupancy. Starting its box office journey on Friday with Rs 1.05 crore, the film’s increased collection on Saturday hints at a potential surge in revenue on Sunday and Monday, thanks to the Holi festival.
Meanwhile, The box office numbers for Yodha are gradually declining. On day 8, the action thriller film amassed ₹1 crores. So far, the film, jointly directed by Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, has collected ₹26.25 crore at the domestic box office. Yodha tells the story of a special task force officer Arun Katyal (played by Sidharth Malhotra) and his fight to protect the country from terrorists. However, he is later suspended from the service after being labelled as a “traitor.” The movie, which was released on March 15, also features Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna.
