Bollywood: Karan Johar announced the sequel of Dostana in 2019. The production house had roped in Kartik Aryan, Jhanvi Kapoor, and TV actor Lakhsya for the sequel. However, if sources to be believed then Dharma Productions has decided to replace the Luka Chuppi actor. It is reported that Kartik Aryan’s ‘unprofessional behaviour’ forced the team to fire him. In addition to that, the honcho and his businesses have decided to never work with the “Luka Chuppi” star ever again.
Production on Dostana 2 was already underway, and it is rare for a big production house to replace a prominent actor midway. The film’s shooting began on November 9, 2019, and completed its Punjab schedule as well. Kartik also shared a picture of himself with the film’s script. Reports also say that there was a lack of clarity on the commitment of dates from his talent management agency.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kartik will next be seen in the upcoming thriller “Dhamaka” a remake of the South Korean film “The Terror Live” which will stream directly on the OTT platform, bypassing the theatrical release. He will also be seen in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”, a horror-comedy also starring Kiara Advani and Tabu which will hit the theatres on November 19.
Dostana, the first homosexual movie of the Indian Film industry made its way to success despite controversies. The first instalment featured Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, and Abhishek Bachchan.
