Bollywood: In the wake of coronavirus, the economy of various sectors has staggered due to lockdown. The announcement of lockdown has put an abrupt halt in the entire country. The entertainment industry has also been hit badly due to lockdown, many films expected to release in the forthcoming days have halted. The shootings have ceased for the time being.
Several artists, technicians, daily wages, workers working on a daily basis are suffering due to the unavailability of money. The members of the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) requested producers to pay the salaries and clear the dues of the technicians, daily wage and workers.
The official statement said “We are also aware that our members are having liquidity crunch and are facing difficulties but on humanitarian ground we request all our members who have taken work from any of their employees, workers, artists and technicians for any of their productions to clear their dues as much as possible as they are more vulnerable in these trying times and to ensure that they enough money to fulfill their daily needs.”
Added to this, another statement has been notified that “All the members are requested to do the needful and pay their dues to their employees, workers, artists and technicians as soon as possible to enable them to sustain with dignity in these difficult times.”

Earlier, TV actor Manmeet Grewal, who had acted in shows like Aadat Se Majboor and Kuldeepak, committed suicide. The actor was burdened by debt and couldn’t find any work due to lockdown.
The notice has been circulated on Twitter whereby, IMPPA has requested its members to clear the dues of their employees, workers, artists and technicians as early as possible. In these difficult times, everyone is struggling from ‘liquidity crunch’, clearance of dues would help them out necessarily.
