MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey asked the entertainment industry to provide him with an action plan to resume all the post-production works, shootings and Television shows that have been at a halt after the announcement of lockdown. In the wake of the coronavirus, most of the employees of the entertainment industry are struggling.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had asked CM whether shooting can be resumed. As per the sources, around Rs 35000 crore of advertising revenue is at stake along with the life of 3 lakh people.
After the request, the CM has asked the officers of the state department to investigate whether the Television shoots can proceed at the areas of Goregaon Film City. The delegates of Indian Broadcasting Foundation are asked to direct the plan for recommencement of TV shoots with utmost social distancing. The representative included Chief NP Singh, coordinator Punit Goenka, Producers Ekta Kapoor and Nitin Vaidya.
Ekta Kapoor took to Twitter to announce “We had a very positive meeting of broadcasters & television producers with the CM of Maharashtra Shri Uddhav Thakrey “.
Additionally, she also tweeted that “The forum that Spoke to the Hon. CM Sir this evening are Puneet Goenka Sir, NP Singh Sir, Rahul Joshi, Madhavan, Puneet Mishra, Abhishek Rege, Deepak Dhar, Adesh Bandekar, Dr Sanjay Mukharji, Vikas Gharelu, Sudhir Naik and Myself”.
Later on, she announced that the meeting ended on a positive note. “We shared concerns of our businesses and job losses with viewers fatigue of reruns and wishes to start shooting with utmost care of safety and SOPs. He quickly addressed all issues, asked his team to initiate a committee and workout the possibilities to start work soon”, she tweeted.
The secluded places for the shoots are to be identified. The shootings would be followed by the norms of health guidelines and social distancing.
