Mumbai: It is being learnt that the Veteran Singer Lata Mangeshkar has been put back on ventilator and is under aggressive therapy. The development came from Dr Pratit Samdani who has been treating the 92-year-old legend after she tested positive to COVID-19. He added that she would continue to be in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, under the observation of doctors.
The Nightingale of India was hospitalized three weeks ago after she presented mild symptoms. Regular updates on her health were shared by Dr Samdani. Interacting with the reporters today, the doc said, “Lataji is currently in ICU and has once again been put on ventilator support due to her worsened condition for which she will remain under observation.”
It was around last weekend that there was an improvement in her health. At that time, it was stated that she was no longer on ventilator support and was responding to treatment. Apart from her doctors, Maharashtra Health Minister had also given a statement about her health.”I spoke with Dr Pratit Samdani who is treating singer Lata Mangeshkar. She’s recovering, was on a ventilator for some days, but is better now. She is no more on ventilator. “Only oxygen is being given to her. She is responding to the treatment,” Maharashtra Minister Rajesh Tope was quoted as saying at that time.
The team has been actively sharing updates on the singer’s health in order to dismiss any rumours.
