Kolkata: The 28th edition of the world-famous Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) will be inaugurated today. Around 183 films including 52 short films and documentaries from 42 countries will be screened at ten venues in this film festival which will run till December 22.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in which Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan along with Shahrukh Khan will also participate. Governor CV Anand Bose and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will also be present in the programme. Bachchan’s film Abhiman, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, will be screened first at KIFF.
SRK, who is currently busy with his upcoming release Pathaan might be seen promoting the movie in the opening ceremony of the Kolkata International Film Festival. Apparently, a recent song from the movie has garnered negative feedback from certain sections of society where Deepika’s saffron dress is being dragged into the controversy. The movie is slated to release on January 25 next year. It also stars John Abraham alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
