Mumbai: “Kesari Chapter 2,” starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, faced controversy when YouTuber and poet Yahya Bootwala accused the makers of using lines from his original poem about Jallianwala Bagh without his permission. However, Yahya has since confirmed that the issue has been amicably resolved.
Yahya Bootwala, who went public with the allegations on his handle, took to Instagram to share a note that read, “So dosto, the producers and I have managed to amicably solve the issue in the best interest of both parties. Thank you guys for your support in these 2 days, you guys have been very kind.” He made headlines over the weekend when he posted a video comparing his poem with a scene from ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, featuring Ananya Panday delivering a moving dialogue that he said, was very similar to his poem.
According to industry tracker, Kesari Chapter 2 earned Rs 8.15 crore on Day 10. The film has benefited from a lack of big releases this week. Kesari Chapter 2 is based on the events of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. It is bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

The film opened with a collection of Rs 7 crore on April 18. Over the Easter weekend. Kesari Chapter 2 earned a total of Rs 29.50 crore.
Its momentum appeared to falter from Monday onwards. At the end of its first week, Kesari Chapter 2 earned Rs 46.1 crore domestically. On Saturday, April 26, the film registered a growth of 76.54 per cent to collect Rs 7.15 crore.
