Kantara: Chapter 1, starring Rishab Shetty, Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth, and Gulshan Devaiah, is all set for a solid opening weekend at the Indian box office. Released on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti/Dussehra, the Kannada magnum opus made a strong start, and over the next two days, it maintained the winning momentum. In fact, on day 3, the film experienced an impressive surge, helping it emerge as a clean success. 

Famous film critic, Taran Adarsh wrote on X, “Kantara witnessed a decline but still managed to collect in double digits on Friday, despite being a working day and coming right after the big holiday on Thursday”.

Box Office Kantara: Chapter 1

On Day 3, Kantara: Chapter 1 earned an estimated 56 crores, a healthy jump of 21.73% from day 2. Overall, the film has earned a whopping 163.85 crore net (all languages) at the Indian box office. Adjusting for GST, the gross domestic total stands at 193.34 crores.

Rishab confessed that although he was eager to work with Diljit, he couldn’t quite remember his name at first. “I was in Kochi for post-production and wanted a singer who spoke a different language and wasn’t from Karnataka,” he said.

“One morning, Diljit’s voice popped into my head, but I blanked on his name (laughs). I knew his powerful voice was perfect for Bole Re Kantara. After some digging, I remembered his name and spoke to my producer and composer — they were really excited about the idea.”
