Kantara Chapter 1 by Rishab Shetty is experiencing an unending streak at the box office by breaking another milestone with the film doubling over 400 crore in other parts of the world in only 6 days of its release. The Kannada period action film, which acts as a prequel to the sleeper hit of 2022 Kantara, now surpasses the lifetime collection of the debut movie, making it one of the highest-grossing Kannada films of all time.
The movie was received with a huge reception in India, especially on the first weekend, and has continued to record remarkable weekday performances. Although there was a slight decrease on Monday, the collections resumed on Tuesday, showing how much the word-of-mouth and the pull of the audience. Kantara Chapter 1 has already earned 290.25 crore net (348 crore gross) in India alone in six days. Sunday, Kantara Chapter 1 overtook the lifetime revenue of KGF Chapter 1, and on Tuesday, it surpassed the original Kantara (2022) at 408 crore worldwide. The movie has also surpassed other current box office successes, such as Vikram (₹413 crore) of Kamal Haasan and the Bollywood horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (₹411 crore), and this has further consolidated its presence at the box office. Analysts have come to think that it may become the first film of the year in India to reach the ₹1,000 crore milestone.
