Bollywood: ‘Mumbai Saga’ headed by John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi has failed to bring in the audience to the theatres due to the spike in Covid-19 cases. On Thursday, the box office collected Rs 80 lakh for which the total earnings of the film reached Rs 13.43 crore. Sanjay Gupta is the director of the movie ‘Mumbai Saga’.
On Friday, Taran Adarsh, Trade Analyst and an Indian film critic shared the box office collection of the movie on his Twitter handle. The tweet reads, “#MumbaiSaga underperforms, despite positive word of mouth… The #Hindi markets- #Maharashtra specifically- are affected due to the #Covid-19 pandemic… Fri 2.82 cr, Sat 2.40 cr, Sun 3.52 cr, Mon 1.49 cr, Tue 1.47 cr, Wed 90 lakh, Thu 83 lakh. Total: Rs 13.43 cr. #India biz”.
The movie was initially supposed to bow out in June last year, but as the cinema halls were shut during the pandemic, there were reports that the movie may opt for a digital release. Apart from John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi, the movie stars Suniel Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, Samir Soni, and Gulshan Grover.
