It has been a long time that rumors of Aashiqui 2 star Shraddha Kapoor dating her childhood friend Rohan Shreshtha has been doing the rounds. But whether or not the marriage is happening anytime soon still remains unknown. While most Bollywood celebrities have chosen the path of “forever” by getting married in the last few years, the speculation related to Shraddha’s marriage to beau Rohan has always been on the discussion table of the Bollywood gossip squad.
Now, papa Shakti Kapoor has added more fuel to the rumor. According to a statement given by Shakti Kapoor to a leading news daily, Rohan is a “family friend” and he would not deny if they want to get married.
Here is what he said – “Rohan is a family friend, I have known his father for many, many years. Rohan visits us often, but he has not asked for Shraddha’s hand in marriage. And besides, today children decide these things on their own. If Shraddha tells me that she has chosen a life partner for herself or even if Siddhant does, I will readily agree. Why will I refuse? But at this point, they are focused on their careers. Marriage is an important decision and the way people are breaking up, it bothers me sometimes. One has to be sure before making a decision like that”.
He further added, “Many people ask me if I stopped Shraddha from becoming an actress, but that is not true. I want her to shine and do well – she is such a hard-working and talented girl. I call her my ‘golden girl’. She has made it on her own in Bollywood”.
On the other hand, Aunt Padmini Kolhapure has hinted at being happy about the marriage, if it occurs anytime soon. On asking about whether their marriage is on the cards now, she giggled and said, “Marriage, wow! That’s a strange question (she giggled too) agar waisa hoga toh khabar mil jayegi (if she plans to get married, you’ll come to know)”.
On the work front, Shraddha’s last release Baaghi 3 had one of her best performances in the action role. Her next movie is with Luv Ranjan that also stars Ranbir Kapoor.
