Mumbai: Rapper Dharmesh Parmar, who was popularly known by his stage name MC Tod Fod, died at the age of 24 on March 20th. Earlier today Ranveer Singh, Zoya Akhtar, and Siddhant Chaturvedi took to their social media handles to mourn the loss of the Gully Boy rapper. MC Tod Fod sang the track India 91 for the Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi-starrer Gully Boy, which was produced by Zoya Akhtar.

Now, a close friend of the rapper reveals to IndiaToday.in that he passed away due to a stroke. As per a source close to MC Tod Fod, the rapper suffered a stroke. “He was suffering from other health issues as well, but he died due to a stroke on Sunday,” revealed his friend. The news of his death only came to light this morning, March 22nd. Paying a tribute to MC Tod Fod, Ranveer Singh shared a picture of the rapper on his Instagram story. Siddhant too posted a picture of MC Tod Fod, along with a screenshot of his conversation. He wrote, “RIP bhai”.

MC Tod Fod was associated with the Mumbai-based hip-hop collective Swadesi. He was among the 54 contributors, along with Divine, Naezy, Sez on the beat, Rishi Rich, Dub Sharma, Jasleen Royal, Ace, Ishq Bector, MC Altaf, 100 RBH, Maharya, Noxious D, and Viveick Rajagopalan who contributed to the 18-song soundtrack of Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. Apart from Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi, Gully Boy also starred Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Raaz, and others.
