Gangubai Kathiawadi has a new release date. The news was shared by the films production banner through Twitter today morning.The film, starring Alia Bhatt in the titular role, will finally release in theatres on February 25. The movie also stars Ajay Devgn alongside the lady.
“Witness her reign in cinemas near you on 25th February 2022, ” read the tweet shared by the production.Expressing joy over the release, Alia Bhatt sharing an shot from the movie captioned it- “Dekho chand aaya … chand nazar aaya Gangu bhi aa rahi hain .. 25th February Ko.” (Look the moon has come… the moon has come. Gangu is also coming.. on 25th Feb.)
As the virus fibered into the community, celebrities were no spare. During the filming producer SLB and Alia had both contracted the virus which juggled the plan. Gangubai Kathiawadi- a social flick recreates the life of a a sex worker in Mumbai’s Kamathipura, who was pushed into prostitution at an early age. The film showcases her journey as the head of a brothel and a political leader of Kamathipura. This will be Alia’s first project with Sanjay Leela Bhansali
