Mumbai: The release date of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan starrer film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in India has now changed. Earlier the film was scheduled to release here on December 23, but the film will now release on December 30. It is worth noting that this film was released in Pakistan on October 13 following which controversy started in India about its release. But now, it has got a clearance and is slated to release on the designated date. In this film, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malik will also be seen in lead roles along with Fawad Khan. It is being claimed that this will be the last biggest film of the year in Indian cinemas. According to the latest reports, ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ will be released in limited theatres in India. The release of the film in Punjab and Delhi-NCR is yet to be considered. It is a Punjabi film, due to which it is expected to release in the northern belt. However, a clear decision is yet to come on this as protests in India are rife regarding this film. The Legend of Maula Jatt has earned more than five crore rupees in Pakistan so far. The reason behind releasing this film in India on December 30 is that during that time no film is to be released in theatres. This is the reason why the release date was extended from 23rd December to 30th December. It is believed that till the release of Pathan, the film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ can do well in theatres. The film is said to be a remake of the 1979 Pakistani classic film Maula Jatt. The director of the film is Billa Lashari. He said that he is proud that ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ played a key role in making the Pakistan-made film a global success. This film has won the hearts of people all over the world. Fawad Khan fans back in the country also await its release on the big screen.
