November 18th marks the 52nd birth anniversary of the late singer Zubeen Garg. His fans are deeply missing him on his birthday. On this occasion, fans gathered outside his home overnight to celebrate his birthday. He passed away suddenly in Singapore on September 19th, 2025. The entire country, including Assam, was shocked by his passing. Zubeen’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, joined the outpouring of affection, highlighting the deep bond he shared with his community.
Zubeen Garg is one the most popular Assamese singer and musicians and had a huge fan following both in the state and outside the state. As a mark of respect and to celebrate the famous singer, a 20 feet tall statue has been set up. It was unveiled by the singer himself on Monday, December 2 during the ongoing Nazirating Tamuli Tourism Festival in the region. The 20 feet tall statue has been built by prosthetic artist Diganta Madhav Goswami.
The Nazirating Tamuli Tourism Festival is a three-day tourism event organised on the banks of the Dibru river with the aim to celebrate its rich heritage.
It’s worth noting that on Zubeen Garg’s birthday, his fans gathered outside his home to celebrate. Several videos of this event are rapidly going viral. In the videos, a woman can be seen distributing cake to those present, while Zubeen Garg’s family members are seen inside the home. Fans cut the cake and also placed it on the singer’s photo.
Zubeen Garg, who had gone to Singapore to participate in a program, suddenly passed away. This news shocked everyone. His body was brought to Assam and he was cremated with state honors. Meanwhile, the Assam Police is investigating his death. Several arrests have been made in this case.
