Mumbai: The craze for Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film is building slowly among the audience. Around 1,44,186 tickets have already been sold for 6394 shows for the opening day of the movie on December 21. This confirms the day 1 collection of at least ₹4.45 crore in India.
Looking positive about the response to the Shah Rukh film, film trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted Sunday night, “Despite not being a Mass Action movie, #SRK ‘s #Dunki has sold 100K tickets in advance already.”
According to the report, the collection is only for the Hindi shows in the 2D format. The film will clash with Prabhas-starrer Salaar: Ceasefire, which will be released a day later on December 22.
Meanwhile, there is a new entrant in the Rs 500-cr club, Ranbir Kapoor, Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal saw a huge third Sunday jump at the box office, keeping its hopes alive of breaking some more records before it closes its final run. According to industry tracker, Animal has entered yet another hallowed club with its all India nett on its day 17.
Animal box office collection on day 17 was an estimated Rs 15 crore, helping it net a total of Rs 35 cr on the third weekend, which led it to earn Rs 512 cr (all India) mark. Ranbir Kapoor is the only Bollywood actor to enter the Rs 500 cr club after Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol.. The film’s Hindi collections are an estimated Rs 466 cr while globally the film is inching closer to Rs 850 cr mark.
