The Dhurandhar directed by filmmaker Aditya Dhar has become an international box office smash that is redefining numerous records and ascending to be the top-grossing Indian film in 2025 across international markets. The Ranveer Singh film has already collected a total of more than 27 million dollars in other foreign markets, which the distributor of the movie says may have easily been more, had it not been banned in many Middle East nations.
In an interview, distributor Parnab Kapadia has indicated that the failure to release Dhurandhar in major markets in the Gulf has cost the company a huge amount. I believe this would be at least a 10 million loss that is approximately 100 crore at the box office, Kapadia stated. He indicated that the action movies have historically done well in the Middle East, and the lack of these regions was a significant setback to the international business of the movie.
Kapadia had mentioned that the makers were not happy but rather they admired the regulatory systems of the respective nations. Each country has its rules and causes, and we have to respect them. Such situation is not the first occasion to which this film is exposed. Other films such as fighter were also refused to be released in these regions in the past, he said. He emphasized that the team did their utmost to get a release in the Gulf, but things did not favour their side.
Dhurandhar did not release in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, which have all been traditionally robust foreign markets of Indian movies. Nonetheless, the movie has also succeeded in conquering the world.
Dhurandhar has grossed about 27.5 million dollars in foreign territories including 17 million dollars in North America alone within the 26 days of its release. The high reactions of the US and Canada audiences were able to cover the losses in other nations.
