Mumbai: Ranveer Singh’s film “Dhurandhar” has made a huge impact at the box office on its first day. Not only did it achieve a career-best opening for Ranveer. The actor who is marking 15 years in the industry is seen on the silver screen after the wait of two years.
Boasting an ensemble cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, the makers have deliberately kept the plot under wraps. Confirming the solid performance and box office collections, Aditya Raj Kaul wrote on X, “The performances are absolutely electrifying – Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sanjay Dutt have delivered power-packed portrayals that stay with you long after. Industry buzz already points to a ₹25 crore+ blockbuster opening on Day 1, and the momentum is only going to grow through the weekend and beyond!”
Earlier there were claims made that the movie was made on the life of Major Mohit Sharma. However, filmmaker Aditya Dhar took to X to dismiss these claims. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has also cleared the film for release, following a re-examination prompted by objections from Major Sharma’s parents. The Delhi High Court had directed the CBFC to consider their concerns, which alleged the movie mirrored the late officer’s life. After review on Tuesday, December 2, the board confirmed that Dhurandhar is a work of fiction with no biographical connection to Major Sharma.
