Dharmendra’s Marriage to Hema Malini

Dharmendra and Hema Malini first met on the sets of Tum Haseen Main Jawan. It was during the filming of this film that they grew close and fell in love. However, Dharmendra was already married, with Prakash Kaur as his wife. Despite knowing everything about Dharmendra’s first marriage and children, Hema wanted to stay with him.

Dharmendra also wanted to adopt Hema Malini, but he didn’t want to divorce Prakash Kaur. This meant he couldn’t remarry under the Hindu Marriage Act. On August 21, 1979, they converted to Islam to unite. Dharmendra changed his name to Dilawar Khan, and Hema Malini became Ayesha B.

Dharmendra & Hema Malini Converted to the Muslim religion.

It should be noted that Dharmendra and Hema Malini married after converting to Islam. However, they kept this a secret. However, when news of their marriage surfaced, their relationship sparked considerable controversy. However, they did not let this controversy affect their relationship. A few months after their marriage, the couple married according to Hindu customs on May 2, 1980. Hema Malini still lives separately from Dharmendra’s former family. However, Dharmendra continues to fulfill his responsibilities with great zeal.
