New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has rejected a public interest petition (PIL) that aimed to prevent alleged fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is accused in a cheating case, from sharing letters with the media, about actors Jacqueline Fernandez, Nora Fatehi and Chahatt Khanna while in jail.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Narula deemed the petition unworthy. Ordered it to be dismissed with costs. The PIL was filed by Nishant Singh, a self-proclaimed ” fan” of the three actors and a public servant. Singh claimed that Sukesh’s actions were malicious and deliberately intended to offend India’s artists accusing him of being emotionally insensitive.

Additionally, the petitioner demanded action against the Union Government through the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting well as the Delhi Government. They alleged collusion between these authorities in offending the modesty of the actors. However, the court declined to entertain this plea due to evidence supporting allegations of collusion.

Furthermore, the bench criticized the petitioner for making claims against authorities for gaining publicity at a low cost. A detailed order regarding this decision, by the court is yet to be released.

The plea brought attention to Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s alleged actions that aimed to disrespect women, in the country specifically focusing on actor Jacqueline Fernandez. He publicly mentioned his supposed relationships with artists, in his letters.
