Stepping in the shoes of a producer, Alia Bhatt co-produced the dark humour with Shahrukh Khan. The movie stars Shefali Shah, Alia Bhatt, Roshan Mathew and Vijay as pivotal characters. The plot of which revolves around a domestic abuse victim who sets out to take revenge on her husband who tortures her. The movie comes as a directorial debut for Jasmeet K Reen.
Darlings is a dark comedy entertainer brimming with secrets, mystery and drama. Bhatt who plays Badtunnisa Shiek is smitten by a roadside Romeo portrayed by Vijay Verma who marries him as soon as he secures himself a govt job. Cut to three years of married life, every night seems to be a test for Badru, until one day she decides to stand up and take charge. The epic characters of Badru and Shamshu; the mother-daughter duo features resiliency in fighting for love and finding their footing in Mumbai while battling demons.
