Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi and actress Tripti Dimri’s upcoming film ‘Dhadak 2’ is facing a big problem from the Censor Board (CBFC). It is reported that the board has objected to some scenes and dialogues showing caste discrimination in the film. Due to the certification of the film being stuck, the release of this film may now be delayed.

Earlier this film was going to be released in November 2024, but later it was postponed till 2025. According to reports, it was planned to release it on Holi weekend (14 March 2025), but the promotion has not started yet. According to a report, there is a problem in getting the censor certificate of the film. According to a source, ‘Dhadak 2’ is a love story based on caste issues. The Examining Committee (EC) of the Censor Board has praised it.

The censor board objected

But given its sensitivity, it is taking time to decide which certificate to give it. Also, it has to be decided whether any scene needs to be removed or not. Until the censor board approves the film, the makers cannot proceed with its promotion. The film ‘Dhadak 2’ is a remake of the Tamil film ‘Pariyerum Perumal’. The tagline in the film’s motion poster read, ‘Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Rani. Jaat Alag Thi, Khatam Kahani’. It is clear from this that a love story has been shown in the film, which gets into trouble due to casteism. Apart from this, ‘Dalit Lives Matter’ was written in the background of the poster, which made it clear that a serious issue related to society has been raised in the film.

Trade experts say that the makers are waiting for the censor board process to be completed. If the film gets approval, it will be released on March 14 itself. But if the certification takes more time, then the release of the film can be postponed again.
