Bunty Aur Babli 2 opens in theatres on Friday, starring Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Sharvari. Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a sequel to the 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli, which featured Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan and was directed by Varun V. Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra. This time, a new batch of Bunty-Babli is out deceiving the public, so the original cons return to put an end to the chaos. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi.
Bad loans, online scams, and phishing are all the rage that can be seen in the movie. It’s strange that two young people, one of whom is looking for funding for a startup, would go to such lengths to defraud a group of lecherous Delhi businessmen who want to party on an island that doesn’t exist, or an avaricious Varanasi mayor who is led to believe he can lease the Ganga and use the holy river’s waters however he wants.
As Bunty Aur Babli 2 draws to a close, the older partnership shifts into high gear and begins to teach the younger pair about the art of deception. It’s a matter of too little, too late, though. Given the film’s ending, it appears that a sequel is very much in the works. It’s a dull plot that matches the world’s greatest con artists against a pair of cocky upstarts who cheat people using the methods, names, and emblems of the thieves who were never apprehended and whose exploits have become legend. Bunty and Babli might be better off retreating back into their shells if there’s going to be such a massive misfire.
