The war drama Border 2 has been setting new milestones very consistently even at the point of its apparent sluggishness in its daily box office collection. The movie starring Sunny Deol has been officially rated as the highest grossing Indian movie of the year in the initial six days of its release to the theaters and has once again affirmed that it has a strong grip at the theatres.

The movie began with a huge opening earning 180 crore in its four days long opening weekend. One of the greatest boosts was on the Republic Day, when Border 2 collected an enormous 59 crore collection and gave the movie a head start towards its blockbuster repeat. Although the movie experienced its biggest fall in collections on Tuesday, and again on Wednesday, it still grossed a good 13 crore net in the Wednesday alone.

This has resulted in an overall domestic net collection of 213 crore which is equal to about 255 crore in gross domestic earnings by Border 2. The global collection of the movie is ₹295 crore including the overseas markets, which is tantalisingly close to the 300 crore mark.

The current numbers have also boosted Border 2 to the head of the list of the highest grossing Indian films of the year. It had already overtaken Prabhas The Raja Saab, which also earned some 207 crore at the global level and now it has overtaken Chiranjeevi Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, which stood at about 278 crore in the global scene.

The trade experts project that Border 2 will easily hit the 300-crore mark on Thursday. Provided that it continues to record consistent momentum during the second weekend, the Sunny Deol-starrer may shortly enter into the desirable ₹400 crore bracket, which adds to its brag as one of the biggest box office hits of the year.
