Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 10: Sunny Deol Film Trails Dhurandhar Despite Strong Run
The period war drama Border 2, by the name of Anurag Singh, starring Sunny Deol, is still on its successful streak in the domestic box office and is the most grossing Indian movie in the year so far. Nevertheless, by the performance standards, when juxtaposed to last year’s blockbuster Dhurandhar, the Sunny Deol-starrer seems lagging behind in terms of hype and total earnings.
Border 2 was also released in theatres on January 23, just in time before the Republic Day holiday, which contributed to its huge opening weekend. Between Friday and Sunday, the film received Rs 121 crore in India, and it crossed the Rs 100 crore threshold with ease. Compared to that, Dhurandhar by Aditya Dhar, which opened on December 5, 2025, had earned Rs 103 crore over the first weekend-Rs 18 crore short of Border 2.
This trend, however, changed in the second weekend. On the second weekend, Border 2 made Rs 51 crore, and on Friday (day 8), it collected Rs 10.75 crore, on Saturday (day 9), it collected Rs 17.75, and on Sunday (day 10), it collected Rs 22.50. This was a massive 57.75% decrease in its opening weekend, as per Sacnilk.
Dhurandhar, on the contrary, demonstrated excellent stamina. Ranveer Singh, in the central role in the movie, earned the film Rs 81 crore during its second weekend with only a slight decline of 21.46%. It was remarkable to note that it was able to earn Rs 30 crore than Border 2 at the identical stage and went further to earn more money during its second week in theaters than during the first week; a rarity in Indian cinema.
On day 10, Border 2 has collected Rs. 275.25 crore in the Indian box office. Although this is a solid total and has already received earnings of more than a digit on a day-to-day basis, it is a long way behind Dhurandhar, which has already raised earnings of more than Rs. 338.75 crore in the same period and surpassed the Rs. 300 crore mark.
All wait for the upcoming weekdays on whether Border 2 is in a position to continue its speed and to bridge the difference with the historic blockbuster of last year.
