The first advance booking of Border 2 was in countries like the United States, Australia, Germany and some theatres in Canada. The film has sold its tickets in Australia more than the current big releases such as Dhurandhar and War 2, according to trade reports. The entire picture is, however, emerging in Canada since the largest chain of cinemas which operate in Canada, Cineplex, is yet to release bookings under Border 2. As soon as the sales of the tickets start there and in other regions, the analysts in the industry believe that the overall performance in the foreign market will become more apparent.
In India, Border 2 is selling fast even though bookings have been open only a few hours and sales have already passed the 2,000 tickets-per-hour mark on BookMyShow, as of noon Monday. As the four days to release approach, many more screens will likely bring to the ticketing lineup that might boost sales faster.
Should the trend persist, Border 2 is bound to have such a huge opening weekend within the domestic and international markets that it will cement the resurgence of Sunny Deol as an action hero. The widespread nature of the early bookings shows that the movie is anticipated by the audience, and it will be one of the most anticipated films of the year.
