Mumbai: Former Dharmatic Entertainment (the sister arm of Dharma Productions) representative Kshitij Prasad, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Saturday in the wake of questioning in the drugs test connected to Sushant Singh Rajput’s passing, has claimed that he “forced to falsely implicate” movie producer Karan Johar and his other top executives for the case.

In his statement to the magistrate, Prasad alleged that the NCB falsely wants to implicate Karan Johar in the case and therefore, they ‘treated him badly’ and arrested him on the basis of a ‘dry cigarette’ in his balcony while searching his residence.

According to Prasad’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde told Mumbai court on Sunday,  NCB officials said they would allow me to leave if I implicated either Karan Johar, Somel Mishra, Rakhi, Apoorva (Mehta), Neeraj or Rahil.

The examining officials “asked me to dishonestly affirm that they consumed drugs,” he said. I wouldn’t follow this despite the pressure being mounted on me as I didn’t have the foggiest idea about any of these individuals by and by… what’s more, I didn’t wish to dishonestly ensnare anybody, Mr Prasad was quoted as saying. 

Prasad was obtained by a group of NCB detectives, driven by its zonal director Sameer Wankhede, from his home in rural Versova on Friday. He was questioned at the Ballard Estate office of the NCB. After his arrest on Saturday, he was taken for clinical tests, including for COVID-19, at the medical clinic,” an authority told.

Prasad’s name sprung up during the NCB’s more extensive test. On Friday, NCB had additionally questioned Anubhav Chopra, who was once connected with Dharma Productions, comparable to the drug nexus in the Hindi entertainment world. 

In a statement given on Friday, director producer Karan Johar said Prasad had joined Dharmatic Entertainment, sister concern of Dharma Productions, in November 2019 as one of the executive producers on an agreement reason for an undertaking, which in the long run didn’t emerge.
