Bigg Boss 18 recently held its grand premiere. On the hit reality show, hosted by Salman Khan, there are 18 contestants inside the house but the show also has an actual animal – a donkey as the 19th contestant. The inclusion of a donkey on the show has made Shaurya Agrawal, an advocacy associate with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India write a letter to Bigg Boss 18 host Salman Khan.
Advocacy Associate of Animal Welfare Organization Shaurya Agarwal told what is written in the letter. The letter read, “We are receiving complaints from many troubled people due to keeping a donkey in the Bigg Boss house. Their concerns are justified and should not be ignored.” PETA has appealed to Salman Khan to hand over the donkey to the organization, so that he can rescue it and keep it in the sanctuary with other animals.
The letter says that the PETA team is “inundated with complaints by members of the public who are deeply distressed over the keeping of a donkey in the Bigg Boss house.” The letter stated that the audience’s concerns are valid and must not be ignored. PETA India has urged Salman to use his influence as a host and a known face “to surrender the donkey to PETA India, to rehome in a sanctuary with other rescued donkeys.”
The letter also states that the ‘use of animals on a show set is no laughing matter’ and urged Salman to ‘avoid using animals as props for entertainment’. The letter notes that the donkey was brought into the house by one of the contestants – Advocate Sadavarte.
