Kartik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is making waves at the box office. The film has earned ₹35.5 crore on the first day in India. This is the biggest opening of Aryan’s career, which has left behind even the film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, released in 2022. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film has become Bazmee’s most successful opening to date.
The successful third sequel of the film Bhool Bhulaiyaa features a stellar cast including Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Trupti Dimri. This sequel is also being made successful by adding elements of horror and comedy to the story. Despite facing stiff competition from Singham Again, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, helmed by film industry veterans, managed to draw huge crowds and garner strong advance bookings.
On social media, trade analyst Taran Adarsh expressed his excitement for the movie, describing it as “outstanding” and praising its skillful fusion of comedy, suspense, and horror. “#OneWordReview… #BhoolBhulaiyaa3: OUTSTANDING. Entertainment ka bada dhamaka… Horror Comedy Terrific Suspense… #KartikAaryan [excellent] #AneesBazmee combo hits it out of the park… #MadhuriDixit #VidyaBalan wowsome,” he posted.
On the occasion of his birthday, director Anees Bazmee conveyed his appreciation for the film’s reception. Bazmee told reporters, “It’s the best birthday present I could ever get.” “I love watching films with the audience to see their live reactions, and I’m glad they’re loving it.” He dismissed any notion of rivalry with Singham Again, stating, “I don’t consider it a clash. Both films released on the same day, and I hope both do good business.”
The movie did well in all of India’s major cities. While the National Capital Region (NCR) saw 79.50% occupancy over 957 shows, Mumbai saw 81.75% occupancy over 789 shows. Bengaluru reported 69.50% occupancy over 250 shows, while Pune had 57.25% occupancy over 357 screenings. For 202 shows, Hyderabad was at 56.00%. Ahmedabad had 78.75% occupancy over 558 shows, while Kolkata had a robust 77.00% occupancy over 257 screenings. Jaipur led with 86.00% occupancy over 118 shows, Chennai had 81.50% occupancy over 59 shows, and Surat had 65.75% occupancy over 302 shows. Bhopal had 75.25% occupancy for 61 shows, Chandigarh had 74.75% occupancy for 131 screenings, and Lucknow had 84.75% occupancy for 170 shows.
At a first-day screening in Mumbai, Vidya Balan, who played the iconic role of Manjulika once more, expressed her happiness. “I felt extremely good watching the first day of the film at Gaiety. Nothing is better than seeing our audience happy. Main bhaut khush hu. I hope a huge number of people come to theatres and watch the film,” she told to the media.
